Who’s ready for summer fun with their pups?

Summer is here and the nicer weather is just around the corner. Time to start planning some trips with the pups to the lakes and beaches with the family.

These items by Petmate and ChuckIt are perfect for our adventures this summer.

I’m going to start with the Twist-In Treat toy. My pup was so excited to try this one out. The treat twists and locks into the toy at different depths making it easier or harder for them to get to. Best part is, they can’t just wolf it down in one bite! They have to work for it and the treat will last a while longer. The treat holder is durable and will hold up to enough the tough chewers.

 

 

Next up is the Hol-ee Gourmet Turkey Leg. This was another fun treat. I filled the leg with some small treats. You can also add a spreadable treat or peanut butter on the nylon bone as a bonus! The nylon bone can be removed and used as a sturdy chew toy. They rolled this all over the house trying to get the treats out. Makes it fun for them to get them out.

 

We also received the Amphibious balls. These will be great we when go to the lake and beach! The love to play fetch and run in the water. They are designed to float making it easier for them to fetch and bring back.

Now, for a fun toy for the yard, the Sloth & Hedgehog Squeaker Balls are a ton of fun. One of my pups goes crazy for the squeaky noise! When thrown, it bounces all over in different directions keeping their interest during the catch. The sturdy rubber will keep them from chewing it up. The Sloth is just adorable!

Last but not least is the Cool-Air Cot Pet Bed. This portable raised dog bed will help keep them dry and clean. They won’t have to lay on the hot sand or even mud for that matter. This is the Large bed and holds up to 90 pounds. Since my weather here in Washington isn’t the greatest yet, my pups love to lay on it with their blanket. Once the sun comes out, this will be great to put on our porch for them to lounge on. The mesh bottom will help to keep them cool in the warm summer months. And its lightweight and easy to travel with.

 

These are the perfect summer time accessories for going to the beach, lake, hiking, camping, or just lounging pool side.

Coast Protein Bars

I’m sure we all know what protein bars and powders are. Great for hiking, camping, after workouts, and an on the go snack for busy lifestyles. But, Coast Protein bars and powders are different. The protein comes in the form of crickets!

Now, I know some will be, “that’s gross, I would never eat crickets”! I was the same until I tried them. I opted for the Trail Mix flavor.

Upon first opening the bar, it has a lightly sweet smell like raisins or dates. The taste is similar to the smell. The Trail Mix bar has nice crunchy pieces of pumpkin and sunflower seeds as well as some cranberries. Great pick me up for energy that lasted for several hours. Over all, this was tasty and even my kids liked this. Now they brag about eating bugs to their friends.

Now, the huge difference in using crickets is sustainability. It is better for the environment to use crickets as the source of protein.

Education.com is a Great Learning Resource for Parents

If your child is needing extra help with school to get some of the concepts of sounds, letters, numbers, or basics down, I invite you to check out Education.com.

As I have posted before, we home school our children through an online public school. Being that we are so hands on with our children’s learning, it is easy for us to see where they can use some extra practice. This is a great resource to print out activity pages or play games.

For those who don’t home school, parent/student/teacher conferences are important to find out where your child’s learning is at and where they need to improve. With this information, you can find printable worksheets or games online for them to help better understand where they are have difficuties.

This is a sample of the Dinosaur Word Search and answer key. I have provided the links if you are interested in getting them for you child as well. I know my son will have fun with this one!

This is a great website with a lot of information for parents and teachers. Teachers help make the curriculum and content to make sure it is of the highest standards. They go from Pre-K through 5th grade. There is many subjects to choose from and even have seasonal themed worksheets as well. This makes learning fun and easier.

I will be usuing this site in conjunction with our home school site to help in the areas we need extra practice on. This will also be wonderful for the summer, winter, and spring breaks. I hope you will enjoy helping your child learn as much as we do.

Overall, they are more reasonably priced then the stores around me with a great selection and rich coffee taste.

We enjoy the flavored coffees, but they also have regular and decaf as well as tea.

These are just a few of our favorites. Jamaican Me Crazy is my top favorite of them all. I usually get at least 2 box of this flavor. The rich coffee flavor with hints of caramel, vanilla, rum, and chocolate is absolutely amazing! Chocolate Raspberry Truffle my second favorite with notes of raspberry and milk chocolate. I haven’t had a flavor I didn’t like yet and I don’t think I will. Angelino’s will always be my go to for a great cup of coffee! I hope you will give them a try!

The Incredibles-Save the day game! Holiday gift guide 2018

My kids love the incredibles so when I got The Incredibles Save The Day Game they were really excited.

This game is a great way to spend time with the kids. Who doesn’t like The Incredibles? My kids love them and we’re really excited to play the game. They learned how to play fairly quick. With the step by step instructions it’s easy to get the game set up and ready to go.

We play round after round. I like how it kind of has you anxious once the cards start moving down the board. Your not sure if you can conquer all the tasks or not obviously. So that definitely keeps the game interesting. It’s amazing when you can beat all of them and win the game.

Over all The Incredibles Save The Day Game is a great game. Especially if your looking to spend time with your kids or even a couple fiends.

Ökocat Litter is amazing!!

If you are looking for a better alternative to clay kitty litter, this is it! I was afraid my kitties wouldn’t like the switch but that seemed much easier than I expected. I was using a clumping clay litter and when the litter ran a bit low, I just added some of the Ökocat wood litter to it and mixed it in. In no time at all they adjusted to it quickly and easily.

 

 

Ökocat Litter is going to save me some serious money! We would go through a 20 pound scoopable clay kitty litter in about a week. Just one Okocat 19.8 pound box lasts me about 3-4 weeks with 3 kitties and scooping once or twice a day. This is because it uses less product to clump the liquid waste. Now, don’t think it falls apart easily because of that, because it doesn’t! This does an excellent job at keeping the odor at bay as well.

 

 

I also like the fact that this kitty litter is more Eco Friendly. You can either flush it, throw  it in your compost bin, or it will break down at the landfills. Being that it is made from reclaimed wood, it is helping prevent waste in other industries as well. It doesn’t look like your standard litter, but it will sure work better than the clay litter we are all use to.

All in all, I am glad to have tried this Ökocat wood litter. They make several different ones so you can find the right fit for your kitty. They have a special one for long hair kitties and even make paper litter as well. This is also virtually DUST FREE!!! What clay litter can say that??? Having to pour it and stand back waiting for the dust to clear. It made me feel bad for my kitties to breath that when they would dig. Now, I don’t have to. This will be the litter I continue to use. I can’t recommend this switch enough! It does track a bit in the house like a clay litter but I fully expected it.
